Introductory Seminar: Music and Words

David Gould and Anthony Pinching highlight some of the main works in Pinner Music Festival 2017, with musical excerpts.

David explores Monteverdi’s pivotal Vespers of 1610. This great work was championed by Nadia Boulanger, who also taught many of the finest 20th century composers.

Anthony outlines her vital influences. As a librettist himself, he also talks about the relationship between words and music with reference to the two song-cycles and choral works.

This event takes place in the Church Hall at Pinner Parish Church.
