Pinner Music Festival presents
Bartosz Glowacki (accordion) Andrey Lebedev (guitar)

at Pinner Parish Church
Bartosz Glowacki (accordion) Andrey Lebedev (guitar)

These two fine City Music Foundation Artists will dazzle and entertain you royally with solos and duos written or arranged for classical accordion and for guitar.

Bartosz Glowacki and Andrey Lebedev are exceptionally talented performers, who show real depth of understanding of their instruments, aligned to true musicianship.  Familiar pieces, some in a fresh form, will be interspersed with less familiar ones that show off the unique range and timbre of each instrument.

Rameau, Marcello/Bach and Tchaikovsky sound wonderful and fresh on accordion. The well-known works by Albeniz (Asturias) and Villa-Lobos (Preludes) were written with the sound of the guitar in mind. Reverie-Nocturne by Guilio Regondi is quite magical – Andrey tells how it explored the guitar’s sonorities in new ways.

Martin Lohse and Pedro Maffia wrote pieces that ‘belong’ on the accordion family, the latter giving us our first tango of the evening. Leo Brouwer is among the finest composers for guitar, and Andrey has been playing his wonderful La Cuidad de las Columnas for many years, while Asencio’s La Joia will give us just that.

Bartosz will give us quite transformative experiences in Trojan’s Destroyed Cathedral and Vlasov’s Archipelago Gulag.

As a duo, the musicians will brings you tangos by Piazzolla and Nazareth, at the end of each half.

This exciting and unusual recital will take us through a very wide range of sounds and of emotions and, as a whole, will lift the spirits.

Those under the age of 19 can come in for free, with a paying adult.
