We have been 'See It Safely' approved

Compass Theatre has been granted the use of Society Of London Theatre & UK Theatre's 'See It Safely' mark. The mark certifies that we are complying with the latest Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, to ensure the safety of our staff and audiences. You can find out more below about the measures we have been putting in place ready for your visit, and what you will need to know beforehand.

The safety of Compass Staff & Volunteers

Compass Theatre's staff and volunteers will isolate if testing positive for COVID-19. They will follow current Covid Secure guidelines for theatres, avoid working in proximity, use facemasks and hand sanitizer, regularly clean surfaces in high traffic points, are aware of the risks and how to manage them.

The safety of Compass activity and event Producers and Performers

Producers of activity and events at Compass Theatre and Ickenham Hall have Risk Assessed their activity in order to follow current Covid Secure guidelines for theatres, which includes avoiding working in proximity, use of PPE, being aware of the risks and how to manage them.

The safety of Compass Audiences

Compass Theatre’s inside spaces have reduced capacity, according to the activity taking place, the size of the space and ventilation practicalities.  Activity outside is ticketed, currently up to 50% indoor capacity, in case of rain.

Signage is clearly displayed at all entrance and exit points, along with hand-sanitizer and the QR code for Covid-19 Test & Trace.

Classes in Ickenham Hall and the Compass Studio are reached via separate rear doors, keeping foyer traffic to a minimum.

To avoid queuing in our small foyer, vending machines are empty and toilet queues and cleaning will be monitored by our Front of House team.  Fewer tables and chairs are in our foyer and those remaining are spaced further apart, or moved outside in good weather.

An app booking service operates at the bar. Those unable to book bar to seat refreshments via the app may be asked to queue outside on the patio, before being admitted to the bar.

Ticket holders will be checked-off, on arrival by our Front of House team before being allowed entry.  E-tickets can be shown instead of paper tickets.  Tickets will be booked in advance via

The Box Office counter in the foyer has been extended to increase distance between operator and visitor. Contactless payment encouraged and any Chip and Pin touchpads will be frequently cleaned.
